Beads and Crystals are delighted to introduce our ONE DAY LOOM WORK CLASS This technique has been used for hundreds of years to make a wide variety of adornments and other projects. Beadwork created on a loom has a lovely fabric like drape and it very comfortable to wear. Spend a creative day learning to make a beautiful beaded bracelet using a bead loom. You will learn how to set up a loom, what threading materials, needles and beads to use. We'll explore techniques on how to finish loom work and how to invisibly rethread during the bracelet. You will receive a kit with different colour beads, thread, needle and a fully illustrated easy to read, computer generated colour pattern. We aim and complete a bracelet during the day plus you will have additional materials and instructions to make a second, larger bracelet at your leisure. This course will be delivered by Stacey Kemp who has over 30 years experience in the hand craft industry. Stacey has had many jewellery designs published in the UK and the US. Start as a beginner and finish as a professional. You’ll use a huge variety of different materials to complete accessories, rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets and so much more. Learn wire work techniques, stringing, weaving, knotting and more. We'll use a huge variety of materials to make the very most of your learning experience On completion of your course, as well as a wealth of knowledge, each student will have a collection of interchangeable colour coordinated jewellery. You will make and take home over 18 different jewellery pieces in all, while gaining a different skill with each project. This course will be delivered by Stacey Kemp who has over 30 years experience in the hand craft industry. Stacey has had many jewellery designs published in the UK and the US. Beadwork is a wonderfully mindful activity. In this 6 week beadwork course we will explore 6 of the more widely used stitches - Peyote Stitch, Brick Stitch, Square Stitch, Spiral Rope, Herringbone Stitch and Right Angle Weave. Using a needle, thread and some small beads we will learn the basics within these stitches to create a SAMPLE of each one. The aim of the course is to understand the foundation of these stitches in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. At the end of the course, you will have a sampler booklet of the 6 stitches. Each stitch is accompanied by high quality computer generated instructions for you to refer to later on. Your tutor Stacey has had many of her beadwork pieces published in the UK and in America and loves to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with anyone who will listen ! Beautiful examples of made jewellery from each stitch will be on display for inspiration.
